519. Top 5 Things I love this week:
1. Bali vibes continuing at home. I've been lighting incense every morning and I've noticed Eadie makes herself a bit of a spread at brekkie time. I think she misses the buffet.
2. Ordering an iced blueberry and cinnamon matcha and not totally hating it. What are our honest thoughts on matcha? I can't be the only one who thinks it tastes like milky seaweed juice?
3. People watching at the park. A dad teaching his son to kick a footy. Teens holding hands under the table. A toddler pushing her toy bubba on the swing (gosh I remember those days!). A grandpa shooting hoops with his grandson. Eadie and her friends giggling and making up games. All forms of connection.
4. A little outing to Bellingen. I always pick up lovely things out there. This time I found a pre-loved 100% wool jumper, a vintage Spell blouse, chai infused creamed honey and carob peppermint frogs. But what I loved the most was lying on the grass on the river bank watching Eadie and her friend hang out on a blanket on the other side of the river just chatting about whatever ten year olds like to chat about.
5. A solo day yesterday after three weeks of 24 hours parenting. I walked with a girlfriend, started a new book (Honeybee by Craig Silvey), fell asleep on a blanket in the sun with Cookie Custard, lit my new Drishti candle, straightened up the house with listening to a podcast, did some cooking and stretching... Quality me-time.

PS. As I write and reflect on this post, it feels like a very “Emma” week. After being overseas it was really settling to ground on down and appreciate being home again. I LOVE seeing new sights and having new experiences as a family AND I also LOVE being a homebody.
The actual travelling part of holidays really cooks me. One of my best talents is my ability to convalesce which means to rest, recover, recuperate and grow strong again. The opposite of convalescing is relapsing, pushing through and ignoring your needs aka burnt out adrenals and a sizzled immune system.
I feel very “me” at the moment which I think means balanced, nourished and grounded. I'm just going to keep riding this post-holiday vibe for as long as I can.
I hope you have a beautiful week
